Using the question words above to ask:
Notice the difference between:
Es un barco (it´s a boat) and El barco está en el mar (the boat is at sea)
First, we are asking what something is and answering: es un barco (a boat, any boat)
Once we know what boat we are talking about and we want to know where it is, we use ´el´ (the) instead of ´un´ (a) to locate it: El barco está en el mar.

The set of 123 Teach me flashcards for vocabulary related to cities, like most other decks, contains a high number of words and some odd choices (¿luz de giro?), some of which correspond to Latin American varieties.

The word ´vecindario´ is a synonym of ´barrio´. However, the latter is more commonly used to refer to an area of a city/town as opposed to just a few houses.
31: ´El parque zoológico´ is the full term for ´zoo´. However, it is far more common to just use the abbreviation, ´el zoo´.
36: In Spain, the correct term is ´la oficina de correos´
43: ´Estacionamiento´is perfectly fine but it is useful to know that in Spain we frequently use the English word ´parking´ meaning ´car park´.
