Based on the inspiring true story of a brave woman whom, after losing her husband at ETA's hands, decided to take a step towards a peaceful coexistence by agreeing to meet the imprisoned terrorist responsible for her husband's death.

Tradicionalmente, el carnaval es una época para disfrutar y celebrar la vida antes de empezar la cuaresma.

Traditionally, carnival is a time to enjoy and celebrate life before starting Lent.

En España, muchas personas llevan disfraces muy elaborados y hay comparsas en la calle, desfiles de grupos disfrazados y músicos y bailarines.

In Spain, many people wear very elaborate costumes and there are comparsas on the streets, parades made up of dressed-up groups, musicians and dancers.

Es una oportunidad de sentir lo que nos une como sociedad, el sentido de comunidad y la felicidad sin restricciones de disfrutar juntos de las cosas buenas de la vida.

It´s an opportunity to feel what binds us together as society, the sense of community and the unrestricted joy of enjoying the good things in life together.

Este año, hay muchas referencias a la pandemia y es curioso ver el sentido del humor pero también responsabilidad y cuidado.

This year, there are many references to the pandemic and it is interesting to see the sense of humour but also responsibility and care.

Estas fantásticas delicatessen están disponibles en algunos supermercados de Marks and Spencer

They call it ´salami´ to help shoppers get an idea of what sort of thing this is but considering the wide range of deli products available (each with its own distinct flavour and characteristics), this is not very accurate at all. Salami has a very different taste. The proper name for this product is simply ´longaniza´, (´llonganissa´ in Catalan). It´s considered one of the finest in Spain and it is produced in a small village called Vic, in Catalonia.

If you´re worried about the beautiful flora decorating this sausage, you can peel it off and just eat the inside meat.

Hoy he probado la bebida ´Pumpkin spice´ (la versión fría, sin café, lo que se llama ´Frapuccino´) de Starbucks y me ha sorprendido. 

Today I tried Starbucks´ Pumpkin Spice drink (the cold version, without coffee, what we call ´Frapuccino´) and it surprised me.

El sabor de Pumpkin Spice me recuerda mucho al sabor de la leche merengada española, una bebida refrescante de verano, hecha a base de leche y canela.

The taste of Pumpkin Spice reminds me a lot of the taste of Spanish ´leche merengada´, a refreshing Summer drink, made of milk and cinammon.

¡Qué maravilla!

Os animo a probar esta bebida para poder tener una idea de lo deliciosa que está la leche merengada (y mucho más natural que el mejunje de Starbucks)
